♦ I will be able to identify significant aircraft from each decade of the 20th century by site during this unit.
♦ I will be able to explain why each of those aircraft is significant and identify world events that contributed to that aircraft's construction.
♦ I will be able to relate why flying boats failed as a premier aircraft after WWII
♦ I will be able to explain the significance of the "Spitfire" aircraft in the Battle of Britain in 1940.
♦ I will be able to explain the significance of the Boeing 707 and the Douglas Aircraft DC-8 in the expansion of world travel in the 1960's.
♦ I will be able to explain the significance of the U2 & SR71 spy planes
♦ I will be able to relate the design conditions that led to two crashes of the Boeing 737 Max in 2019
♦ I will create a persuasive presentation for an aircraft I consider a "Game Changer" for aviation in the 20th century.
♦ I will create a comprehensive diary of an "Across the Pacific" flight on the Pan Am "China Clipper" as if I was actually present on that voyage.
♦ I Will create an "Interview" with a fictional Spitfire Pilot describing a dog fight in the Battle of Britain
